3-Day Mount Toubkal Trek – Ascent of North Africa’s Highest Peak

Embark on a 3-day trekking adventure from Imlil to the summit of Mount Toubkal. Explore Berber villages, hike through scenic valleys, and conquer the highest peak in North Africa.
Program Days
Depart early from Marrakech for a short drive to Imlil, where you'll meet your mule handler(s). Begin your trek with a gentle climb through the village of Aremd, terraced farmlands, and the shrine of Sidi Chemharouch. Continue ascending through beautiful mountain landscapes to reach the Toubkal Refuge at 3,100 meters. The day includes about 5 hours of walking. Dinner and overnight stay at the refuge.
Start the summit day early to enjoy the cool air and clear views. The ascent to Mount Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa, is steady and rewarding. From the summit at 4,167 meters, take in breathtaking views over the Atlas Mountains, the Siroua range, and even the Marrakech plains. Descend back to the refuge for lunch and enjoy a free afternoon to rest. Approx. 3 hours for the ascent and 2.5 hours for the descent.
After breakfast, descend gradually along the same path, passing the shrine of Sidi Chemharouch once again. Enjoy the scenic route as you return to Imlil at 1,750 meters. After lunch in the village, depart for Marrakech around 1:00 PM. This day includes about 4 hours of walking and 1 hour 20 minutes of driving.
